Man's injuries deemed suspicious, death being investigated as homicide

UPDATE, Aug. 21 | The victim was identified as 22-year-old Sage Walston. Investigation revealed he was shot.

ORIGINAL STORY, Aug. 20 | Kansas City, Missouri, police are investigating one man's death as a homicide after his injuries were deemed suspicious.

According to police, officers were called to Linwood Boulevard and Elmwood Avenue around 3 a.m. Thursday.

They found a man in his 20s lying in the street covered in blood.

He was taken to the hospital where he died.

Police said they initially thought the man was a victim of a hit-and-run, but at the hospital, the injuries looked "more suspicious."

The death is now being investigated as a homicide and anyone with information is encouraged to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
