Metro squad formed to investigate Grandview homicide

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Grandview police said the Metro Squad has been activated to investigate a homicide in the 6100 block of East 126th Street in Grandview.

Officers were dispatched on a shots-fired report and found two brothers in the Briarwood Apartment complex with gunshots wounds around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Both victims were transported to the hospital.

Keyon Martis, 20, died at the hospital, while his 22-year-old brother, whose name was not released, was treated and "is now in stable condition and improving," according to Grandview police.

The brothers lived together.

The suspect vehicle is a black sedan, which was seen leaving the area occupied by at least two suspects.

There was also a light colored sedan seen in the area believed to be connected to the shooting.

A Metro Squad was assembled and is investigating the homicide.
