Update | MSHP said the boy was safely located in Minnesota. The mother is in custody.

Original story | An Amber Alert has been issued for a missing 1-year-old boy out of Houston, Texas, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Noah Johnson was taken on Feb. 6, 2024, the patrol said.

Harris County law enforcement officials says the boy has a life-threatening heart condition and is need of medication.

Doctors told law enforcement the boy's condition will rapidly worsen if he's not given the medication.

The boy was taken by his mother, Kamilah Johnson, on Feb. 6 about 3 p.m. after the state of Texas issued paper work that removed custody from her.

On the day Noah was taken, authorities arrived at the suspect's apartment with child protective services.

Kamilah Johnson told them to return with a warrant, and when they did, the mother and boy were gone.

MSHP said Kamilah Johnson was last known to be at a Walmart on West 133rd Street in KCMO on Monday about 9:45 p.m.

The boy is believed to be wearing a navy shirt and pants with a flower pattern.

The MSHP says his hair is braided in cornrows.

Authorities were looking for a white 2007 GMC Yukon with Texas license plates STM7097, the patrol said.

The suspect has family in KCMO and authorities believe she is in the area.
