KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri police investigated a suspicious package Wednesday afternoon near 37th Street and Broadway Boulevard.

A utility worker found an unattended suitcase and an ammunition can in the 3700 block of Broadway, just north of a McDonald's.

The police department’s bomb and arson squad was called to investigate. No explosive devices were found, but knives were found inside the ammunition can, police said.

Broadway Boulevard was briefly blocked in both directions from 37th to 38th streets while police investigated.
