Officers save person from drowning in Kansas City lake

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department was called to a lake near Pittman Road and East 43rd Street on Sunday afternoon for a reported drowning.

When officers arrived, they located two people near the body of water and another person struggling to stay above water in the lake.

Ofc. Manley and Ofc. Hawley removed their gear and entered the water to rescue the “young woman,” according to a social media post from KCPD.

The person was brought to safety by police.
