1 dead, 1 in custody after Sunday shooting in the Northland

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One man was killed after a Sunday afternoon shooting in a Kansas City, North, apartment.

Kansas City police said the homicide happened about 12:40 p.m. in the 2000 block of Northeast 49th Street.

Officers were sent to the apartment on a report of gunshots and found the victim inside the apartment.

On Thursday, police identified the victim as 33-year-old Patrick Burt.

One person was arrested at the scene, police said.

There was no word on what led to the homicide.
