KANSAS CITY, Mo. - On Thursday, Kansas City police confirmed they have a person of interest in a double stabbing in custody. One woman died and a man suffered critical injuries in the incident.
The stabbing happened at about 5:50 p.m. Wednesday in Kansas City's West Bottoms.
The violence happened near a gas station at 12th Street and Wyoming. Police said they found a woman dead at the scene. A man was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
Police said the suspect may have used a cane with a knife on the end of it.

The suspect is described as a black man in his 50s wearing all black. He reportedly fled the area on foot.
