Masked men with guns robbed the Las Comadres convenience store located at 7800 Shawnee Mission Parkway around 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Although there were no injuries, the lone female worker on duty was tied up before the robbers made off with cash.

Store owner Victor Licona told 41 Action News that two men entered the store wearing masks, speaking in Spanish, while zip-tying his employee and stealing money before escaping out of the back exit, where a get-away driver was waiting in a white four-door sedan.

"We're very paranoid. We feel it's probably somebody who frequents the store. They seem to know the layout of the store,” said Licona.

Las Camadres hasn’t had any problems recently, but Licona said they were robbed three times six years ago.

He’s obviously hoping those responsible for Saturday’s robbery are held accountable.

"We're not corporate, it's a small shop. Everybody lives around here. All the employees are from around this neighborhood and for them to come around and rob someone like us, I think it's taking advantage of somebody they shouldn't,” said the store owner.
