Platte County deputies shot at during traffic stop

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two Platte County sheriff’s deputies are uninjured after being shot at Saturday afternoon during a traffic stop.

Just before 1 p.m., the deputies were at Interstate 29 north of Waukomis Drive when the shots were fired from a passing vehicle, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

The individual who was stopped also was not injured.

Detectives currently are reviewing footage from the time of the shooting.
