Man who allegedly threatened Jackson County deputy in custody

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – UPDATE 3:20 PM 5/18/2018: A man is in custody after allegedly pointing a gun at a Jackson County Sheriff's deputy serving him an eviction notice.

A Jackson County Sheriff’s deputy fired at least one shot at the suspect Friday afternoon.

The deputy was at a house in the 5800 block of E. 11th St to serve an eviction notice just after noon when he became involved in an altercation.

During the altercation, the suspect allegedly pointed a weapon at the deputy and others on the scene. As the deputy retreated, he fie fired at least one shot toward the suspect, who went back into the residence.

Police have been on the scene negotiating with the suspect to come out. It’s unknown if the suspect was struck by the deputy’s gunfire.
