Police investigated the deadly shooting of a man in Kansas City late Monday night.
Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Maple after someone reported hearing gunshots around 11 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim lying near the back of an apartment building.
Police said it appeared the victim had been shot in a robbery that went wrong. They believe he is a recent high school graduate in his late teens.
Officers did not release any suspect information.
This is Kansas City's 102nd homicide of 2015.
