Police are investigating a homicide in Leavenworth, Kansas after officers found a deceased victim with apparent gunshot wounds.
The authorities were called to a small parking lot near 6th and Cherokee around 6:30 a.m. Sunday morning after reports of shots being fired. Upon arrival, police located the deceased victim, who has been identified as 22-year-old Jonta J. Adams of Leavenworth.
Police Chief Pat Kitchens says investigators are focusing on an overnight phone call that was reported as a disturbance whenever gunshots were fired.
