Police have identified the man who was shot and killed outside of a business in the 8200 block of Troost Avenue on Thursday.
According to the Kansas City Police Department, officers arrived on scene around 2 p.m. where a male victim was discovered, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
The man was later identified as 25-year-old Nicholas Patterson of Kansas City, Mo.
The victim was declared deceased on the scene.
Witnesses state seeing two or three suspects fleeing from the scene on foot after the disturbance, according to the initial investigation.
