The Kansas City Police Department is investigating a homicide in southeast Kansas City.
According to police, at approximately 4:30 p.m. officers were called to the 8600 block of East 114th street in regard to a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located a black male who appears to be in his 20s, suffering from a gunshot wound in the street.
The victim was transported to an area hospital where he passed away a short time ago.
Police state a four-door vehicle was observed fleeing the scene shortly after the shooting.
