One person was fatally shot in the 3500 block of Flora Avenue Tuesday night in Kansas City, Missouri.
Police were called to 3545 Flora around 10 p.m. after reports of shots being fired at the home.
Upon arrival, officers observed a black male victim in his 50s lying on the front porch with apparent gunshot wounds.
The victim was declared deceased at the scene. He has been identified as Ricky Frazier, 56, of KCMO.
Witnesses indicated the suspect, Dedrick Pickens, a relative of Frazier, was inside the residence. Officers were able to talk the suspect out of the residence. He was then taken into custody.
According to court records, Pickens was high on PCP and told police after he was arrested that he had a good relationship with Frazier and didn't remember shooting him.
Pickens has been charged in Frazier's death.
The investigation is ongoing.
