Posted

A police standoff at a Lawrence, Kansas hotel is over after 10 hours of negotiations.

A release from the Lawrence Police Department says officers went to Springhill Suites on Riverfront Plaza to check on the welfare of a guest. They were told the guest, a 47-year-old white man, had barricaded himself in a room and may be armed.

All the guests were evacuated from the hotel while officers negotiated with the man for 10 hours. He was eventually taken into custody and taken to an area hospital for evaluation.
