Police standoff ended Wednesday night when the suspect walked out of a house and surrendered to KCMO police

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man wanted on arrest warrants for violent felonies surrendered to Kansas City, Missouri police officers Wednesday night after an hours-long standoff on the city's east side.

Officers went to a home to arrest the man about noon in the 6400 block of E. 16th Terrace.

Police saw the man enter the home and he refused their commands to come out.

Several adults in the home got out safely.

The suspect, Xavier Jones, came out of the house about 6:50 p.m. and was arrested.

The U.S. Marshals Office said that Jones was wanted "for multiple felony warrants including robbery, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, and felony theft."
