'Pounds' of money: Charges filed against a woman who stole $5,000 of perfume

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A thief who stole more than $5,000 worth of perfume told police she made "pounds'' of money selling the ill-gotten goods.

Tierica Hervey's lucrative crime spree ended this week when she was charged in Jackson County District Court with three counts of stealing over $750, according to court documents.

Hervey's crime spree began on Feb. 8, when she stole 15 bottles of perfume valued at more than $1,300 from Ulta Beauty at 8600 Ward Parkway in Kansas City, Missouri.

She was seen by a store employee driving away with two juvenile females in a dirty, dark blue BMW, according to a court document.

Hervey came back to the store on April 1 and stole 21 bottles of cologne and perfume worth nearly $2,000.

Less than a week later, Hervey came back to the store again and grabbed 22 bottles of cologne and perfume worth more than $1,800.

Olson was identified as a suspect in all three crimes.

One of the detectives working the case recognized Hervey as a suspect he investigated for multiple thefts in December 2016 and January 2017 in Platte County, according to a court document.

Police arrested Hervey on June 25 and she admittedto the thefts.
