Raytown shooting kills 1 man, injures another

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Raytown police are investigating a shooting that left one man injured and another dead.

According to police, they were called to a "nature unknown" call at a home in the 8300 block of Hedges Avenue around 2 a.m. Wednesday.

When officers arrived, they heard gunshots from inside the home and could see a man walking around inside.

The man reportedly refused commands to exit the home and a standoff was initiated.

After an hour, the man came to the door, according to police. He had been shot.

Officers entered the home and found another man deceased.

The first man was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
