KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Shawnee, Kansas, woman was charged after a car crash in Merriam, Kansas, left another woman dead and her husband injured.
Vicky Walter, 57, is charged with involuntary manslaughter, DUI-aggravated battery, and driving while suspended in Johnson County for the Tuesday incident.
Police said three vehicles were eastbound on Shawnee Mission Parkway just after 10 a.m. when one of the vehicles struck another. The crash forced one of the cars into a third vehicle, which crashed into a rock wall just off the road.
Celena Duncan was a passenger in the third car and died at the scene. Her husband, the driver, also suffered serious injuries.
Walter’s bond is set at $500,000.
