UPDATE: Police have charged Donald Owens in Saline County Court with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action and one count of burglary.
According to court documents, Owens admitted to killing two people last week in "retaliation for causing what he perceived to be problems in his life and the life of his family."
He is being held without bond.

Sheriff’s deputies in Saline County, Missouri – about 100 miles east of Kansas City, Missouri – have launched an investigation after two murders have been reported near Slater, Missouri.
In a news release, deputies responded to a murder in the early morning hours of Thursday. Deputies say an additional murder was reported shortly thereafter near Slater, Missouri.
Investigators have not released any suspect information or how the victims died.
