KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Kansas, police have a suspect in custody after he was involved in a rolling gun battle with another car and subsequent standoff with officers.
KCKPD said officers were sent to the area of 69th Street and State Avenue just before 6 p.m. on reports that two vehicles were shooting at each other.
While officers were on the scene, they saw a car parked behind a motel they believed may have been involved in the shootout.
The car also belonged to a person who was wanted in both Kansas and Missouri.
Officers tried to make contact, but the suspect would not come out of the motel room.
Just after midnight, the suspect voluntarily came out after hours of negotiation.
He was taken into custody.
