Three men charged in teen’s fatal shooting in KCK

OLATHE, Kan. — Three men have been charged in Wyandotte County District Court in connection with the shooting death of a 17-year-old in Kansas City, Kansas.

Demetri D. Irvin, 22, Dai’Leon K. Henderson and Tobias J. Womack, 20, have been charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, criminal discharge of a firearm into an occupied building or vehicle and aggravated battery.

Irvin also has been charged with criminal possession of a firearm.

The three allegedly took part in a shooting shortly before 10 p.m. on Aug. 13 in the 1900 block of North 15th Street.

Jo’Shawn Garrett, 17, of KCK, died from gunshot wounds.

Another man who was riding in the backseat with Garrett suffered serious injuries in the shooting, which he the unidentified man said took place on Parallel Parkway between 18th and 38th streets.
