KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A track coach is accused of misdemeanor sexual abuse for an incident at Grandview, Missouri, High School.

Marlon D. Watson, 38, was charged Wednesday in Jackson County Court with one count of misdemeanor sexual abuse.

Court documents say the incident allegedly happened June 14 at Grandview High School, 2300 High Grove Dr.

A spokesperson from the Grandview School District said Watson is not, and never has been, employed by the school. They also said the track is a space anyone in the community is welcome to use, so it's unclear if the victim was a student at Grandview High.

The victim said Watson, her track coach, hugged her, then reached under her shirt, grabbed her breast and snapped her bra strap, a court document states.

School surveillance video shows Watson with his arm around the victim several times before the victim elbows Watson and runs away.

Watson told police he did not touch the girl in such a way.

Court documents state the victim's mother told the head coach about the incident, but it was not reported to the state children's division.

Watson will be in court July 31.
