KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City man has been charged in the death of his father and a convenience store clerk.

Reginald E. Jones, Jr., 18, faces two counts of first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

Officials say surveillance video shows Jones pointing a gun at his father at a grocery store Dec. 7 near East 24th Street and Cypress Avenue. When his father turned to enter the store, Jones allegedly shot him multiple times, then pointed the gun at the second victim and shot him as well.

Two men were killed around 7:40 p.m. Thursday outside an east Kansas City business.

Officers were sent to East 24th Street and Cypress Avenue on a shooting. They found two men dead from gunshot wounds just outside a business.

The victims were identified as Darryl Singleton, 57, and Reginald Jones. Sr., 36.

Prosecutors requested a $500,000 bond.
