Woman found dead in Lee’s Summit apartment

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police in Lee’s Summit are working to learn more about the circumstances of a shooting Tuesday morning that left a woman dead.

According to police, around 7 a.m. officers were sent to an apartment building in the 500 block of NE Howard Ave.

When they arrived at the building, they found a woman dead inside the apartment. Police also found a man in the apartment suffering from a non-life-threatening injury. The man was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Police said their initial investigation indicates the incident involved only those inside the apartment and are not looking for any additional suspects.
