Wyandotte County Sheriff's Office worker faces battery, child endangerment charges

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A juvenile care worker with the Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Office is facing multiple charges related to an incident that occurred in October at the county’s juvenile detention center.

Jorge Navarro, 51, faces one count each of mistreatment of a confined person, endangering a child and battery, according to a news release from the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s office.

The incident occurred on Oct. 11, and was reported by another juvenile care worker, the release stated.

Charges were filed on Thursday.
