The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority is removing up to 65 bus stops in the heart of Kansas City, effective Sunday, Jan. 3.
Some routes in Johnson County will be affected as well.
According to KCATA’s website, the retraction is being done to “enhance road safety and improve transit service.”
They also say Grand Boulevard will be narrowed with new striping to improve safety for bicyclists, pedestrians and cars, and that some stops will be removed simply to “concentrate bus service in several major downtown corridors and improve spacing between the stops.”
