First KC Scholars recipients earn degrees

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The first recipients of KC Scholars support graduated this fall.

Josyln Brockman and Teeka Hodge were recipients of the adult learner scholarship.

Brockman received an Associate Degree in nursing from Donnelly College. She will pursue RN certification from Kansas City Community College.

Hodge earned an Associate Degree from Metropolitan Community College. She starts school at Park University in January. She plans to pursue a degree in social services.

KC Scholars launched in September 2016. The first group received scholarships from the program in May 2017.

Applications to the program open Jan. 1, 2018.
