KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Law enforcement agencies around the country want you to get rid of your unused prescription drugs Saturday, National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

According to the DEA, more than six million people abuse prescription drugs found at the homes of family or friends.

Doctors and law enforcement officials say you should always properly dispose of unused prescription drugs.

Police departments around the Kansas City area will take part in this national event.

You can bring the pills to participating Price Chopper locations, police departments and other sites.

If you are participating, officials say put the pills in a clear zip lock bag.

You can't bring items that have needles or liquids.
