Kansas City firefighters battled an apartment fire in the West Bottoms Thursday morning.
The five-story building at 1331 St. Louis Avenue caught fire around 10:15 a.m. Firefighters said it was under control just before 11:30 a.m.
One person was treated for smoke inhalation.
Animals, including a turtle, were also rescued from the apartment building.
