MISSION, Kan. — This year features a different kind of Easter egg hunt for those at the Bickford assisted living home in Mission.

Since families can’t come inside to visit loved ones this year, caretakers at the home came up with a unique idea.

Residents wrote messages on Easter eggs, butterflies and baseballs, and then put their works of art on their windows for families to see.

“The residents have all been super excited that they get a chance to connect with their families in a different way other than their cell phone,” Bickford life enrichment coordinator Charlotte Bickimer said.

Families are encouraged to look for the messages from loved ones and post on social media.

We've created a Facebook group, We're Open Kansas City, where members of the community can post businesses serving their community.
