Kansas City, Kansas Police investigating incident between Mayor, Commissioner

Kansas City, Kansas police are investigating an incident that happened at city hall between Mayor Mark Holland and Commissioner Mike Kane.

Sources tell 41 Action News tensions were high in a special session on Nov. 3.

The commissioners were discussing developments and investments in different parts of the county.

Commissioner Mike Kane told Mayor Holland he feels the group is split on issues, and the Mayor has not done anything to fix it.

A spokesperson for the Unified Government confirmed an active investigation is underway. All of the commissioners are scheduled to be interviewed as part of the investigation.

Both Commissioner Kane and Mayor Holland told 41 Action News they cannot comment at this time.
