KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police said an officer shot and killed a man after they say he threatened them with a gun.

Around 10:20 p.m. Monday, they responded to Northeast 34th Court and Northeast Rock Creek Drive. That's east of I-29/35 and south of NE Parvin Road.

Officers said a man with a gun was threatening to harm himself, and as he was speaking with them, he threatened to harm them with the gun.

An officer then shot him.

The man died at the hospital. No officers were injured.
