KCPD: Five injured after two shootings in under 30 minutes

Five people were injured in two separate shootings reported less than 30 minutes apart in Kansas City early Saturday morning.

Just after midnight, officers responded to the area near 28th and Tracy.  The shooting reportedly sent two people to the hospital. One of the victims sustained life-threatening injuries. The other person is in serious condition.

About 20 minutes later, gunfire erupted again three and a half miles away near 50th and Euclid. Three people were shot, according to police. One person is recovering from a gunshot wound to the leg. However, all three victims are expected to be okay.

It is unclear whether these shootings are connected.

Police have not released any suspect information at this time.
