KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person is dead and another injured following a crash involving a semi truck on Saturday near Harrisonville.
Missouri State Highway Patrol was notified at 6:50 p.m. of a crash on southbound Interstate 49 at the 161 mile marker.
“Apparently, a car broke down on the right side of the road and another person stopped to help,” MSHP said in a tweet. “Then a semi struck the cars.”
MSHP says one of the vehicles was pushed into 73-year old Max Herrick, who was outside of his vehicle at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Major Crash Team Investigation Unit responded to the crash.
