KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person is dead following a car crash on Friday in Kansas City, Missouri.
A red Pontiac Grand Am was driving west on Meyer Boulevard, according to police, and passed an “unknown white vehicle.”
“The driver of the Pontiac ‘stomped on the gas’ and took off to pass,” police said in a news release. “The driver lost control and hit the curb to the left, crossed all west bound lanes and struck a tree on the right side of Meyer Boulevard.”
Police said that vehicle parts and “paint from a container in the truck” hit a Ford F150 in the owner's driveway at 3014 East Meyer Boulevard.
The driver of the Pontiac suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital, where the driver later died.
The crash still is under investigation.
