1 dead following double shooting in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person is dead following a double shooting Tuesday night in Kansas City, Missouri.

Police said a woman was killed by gunfire at East 31st Street and Cypress Avenue. She was identified as 52-year-old Evelin Frazier of Kansas City, Missouri.

A second victim, a male, sustained non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

Police said officers were called to the 3000 block of Cypress Avenue around 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. A male with a gunshot wound was located outside the residence, and officers located Frazier in the home. She was declared dead at the scene.

There is "very little" suspect information available at this time, but police said they are speaking with one person who might have been nearby.

This is the 136th homicide in Kansas City, Missouri, this year.

Anyone with information is asked to call homicide detectives as 816-234-5043 or the anonymous TIPS hotline at 474-TIPS. Police are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
