ORIGINAL STORY, July 22 | Gunfire killed one person Wednesday night in east Kansas City, Missouri.
The city's 107th homicide of the year happened about 7 p.m. near East 40th and Tracy Avenue.
Police found the victim in the middle of Tracy Street.
He died at the scene, according to a police department spokesperson.
Police said witnesses told them people in a pickup truck were involved in the shooting.
The pickup is believed to have been in several traffic crashes, police said.
The driver jumped from the truck and ran a few blocks away at East 40th Street and Highland Avenue.
There is no information about what led to the violence.
Investigators were on the scene trying to piece together what happened.
