KCMO woman killed after being hit by vehicle Wednesday

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City, Missouri, woman was killed Wednesday night when she was struck by a vehicle at East 71st Terrace and Troost Avenue.

Police said the driver stopped after the crash, which occurred shortly before 10:30 p.m.

According to police, a Nissan sedan was driving northbound when it struck the woman, who was either walking in or attempting to cross the street.

The driver stopped and gave information to officers. The driver and a passenger in the vehicle were not injured.

Late Thursday afternoon, police identified the pedestrian as 52-year-old Kim Ruff of KCMO. She died at the scene.

The Kansas City Police Department's Accident Investigation Unit will continue to investigate.
