1 person died Monday in KCK wreck

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police say one person died Monday afternoon following a rollover wreck in Kansas City, Kansas.

Just before 2:30 p.m., first responders were sent to the intersection of 34th Street and Metropolitan Avenue on reports of a crash.

According to a police spokesperson, a truck was westbound on Metropolitan when it collided with a black passenger car heading east.

The truck overturned in the crash.

The driver of the truck, identified Tuesday as 51-year-old David Brunson of Kansas City, Kansas, was pronounced dead.

The driver of the passenger car suffered non life-threatening injuries.

The exact cause of the crash is under investigation, police said.

Police Chief Terry Zeigler said that residents helped to flip the truck on its side.
