Man shot and killed Wednesday outside a Johnson County Library

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Prairie Village man was shot and killed Wednesday at the main branch of the Johnson County Library.

Overland Park police responded to a reported shooting shortly before 9 p.m. at the library, which is located at 9875 W. 87th St.

The shooting victim, identified Thursday as 30-year-old Micah Babick, was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's brother was present when he was killed, police said.

There is no information at this time about what led to the shooting, but police were looking for a red sedan that drove away from the scene east on 87th Street.
