Suspect caught within an hour, spokesperson says

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A shooting Tuesday night wounded one person near an entrance to the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas.

The shooting was caught on security footage shortly before 8 p.m. at Cambridge Street near West 39th Avenue.

KU Medical Center police said the suspect involved in the shooting was taken into custody within an hour, according to a hospital spokesperson.

The victim was reported in stable condition.

Hospital police worked with Kansas City, Kansas, officers to locate the suspect.

It's unknown at this time what led to the shooting.
