KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person now is in stable condition following a shooting on Sunday in Kansas City, Missouri.
A KCPD spokesperson said the victim arrived at a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and is believed to be connected to a disturbance that began as a shots fired call around 5:30 p.m. in the area of Forest Avenue and East 49th Terrace. Additional calls came in from the areas of West 51st and Wyandotte streets and Baltimore Avenue and W. 52nd Street, according to police.
Police said that incident was between two vehicles that continued westbound, passing Loose Park and the area of East 53rd Street and Brookside Boulevard.
The vehicles were abandoned, and police searched the area, locating shell casings and a vehicle "believed to be involved" near East 53rd Street and Brookside Boulevard, according to police.
A pickup truck near Baltimore Avenue and W. 52nd Street was struck by a vehicle during the incident.
No suspects are in custody.
