KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 9-year-old boy was accidentally shot in the leg by his brother in Kansas City, Missouri Friday.
KCPD said the shooting happened on the 1900 block of E. 83rd Terrace. The boy was taken to a hospital and will be OK.
A 13-year-old at the scene told police that he was trying to take his mother's handgun out of its case when it accidentally fired, hitting his brother. KC police said the lock may have malfunctioned.
A 6-year-old boy was also home but wasn't involved in the shooting.
Their mother was not home at the time.
