KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Sometimes, you’ve just gotta have a Happy Meal.
A 10-year-old Kansas City, Missouri, girl hopped in the family SUV while her mother was sleeping and wrecked into another car, trying to get to McDonald’s.
KCPD officers were called around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday morning to the area of 12th and Olive streets, where a Chevrolet Tahoe crashed into a Honda Pilot.
The 10-year-old was driving the Tahoe and told officers when she woke up she just wanted to eat McDonald’s, so she drove herself.
After a few miles, the girl got lost and then caused a crash while attempting a turn in the 1200 block of Olive Street.
“Since she was an unlicensed 10-year-old, she failed to yield to the Honda coming in the opposite direction,” KCPD said in a statement.
Both vehicles were heavily damaged along with an electrical utility box and stop sign.
The girl was transported to a local hospital with minor bumps and bruises. The other driver was not injured.
No word on when the girl will get her next Happy Meal.
