KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two people were killed and one seriously injured in a crash following a chase Monday evening.

According to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 36-year-old Jeffery Baldwin and 59-year-old Wilma McClasky, both of Kansas City, Missouri, were killed in the crash.

It happened in the northbound lanes of U.S. 169 at Amory Road just after 6:30 p.m.

MSHP said a 1998 Ford Expedition failed to yield to law enforcement, and a chase started.

Clay County deputies put down a spike strip, and the driver, identified as 39-year-old Kelly Cannon, overcorrected.

The car went off the left side of the road, overturned and ejected all three occupants, none of whom had been wearing a seatbelt, according to MSHP.

McClasky was pronounced dead at the scene.

Baldwin was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
