UPDATE: Feb. 10 | Cadenhead was released from the hospital and is in custody at the Cass County Jail.

PREVIOUS | Two people were taken to the hospital Sunday following a wrong-way driver pursuit in Cass County, Missouri.

A Cass County deputy attempted to stop a black 2014 Volkswagen around 4 a.m. on Interstate 49 south of Peculiar, but the driver continued, reaching speeds of more than 100 miles per hour.

After more deputies assisted in the pursuit, the driver continued through Harrisonville, exiting the interstate, driving to Love’s Truck Stop, then re-entering the highway through the interstate’s exit ramp north of South Commercial Street.

“As the driver exited the wrong way at the 291 Highway ramp the vehicle turned sideways and began to reverse,” a news release stated. “A pursuing deputy struck the suspect’s vehicle as it backed across the ramp preventing it from moving forward.”

The driver, Quasheena L. Cadenhead, 23, of Kansas City, Missouri, was admitted to an area hospital for observation, while a deputy involved in the pursuit was treated and released.

Cadenhead was charged Sunday with resisting arrest by fleeing and is being held on a $7,500 cash-only bond. She also had 23 active warrants from KCPD and a warrant out of Lee’s Summit for failure to appear.
