KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A house fire near Interstate 35 and Northeast Vivion Road killed one person Wednesday morning.
The call for the fire went out at 7:05 a.m.
A middle-aged woman was found dead in a bedroom in the home.
The Kansas City, Missouri Fire Department initially reported two people were killed but later corrected the statement.
Investigators believe the fire started near the basement steps, but the cause is still being determined.
