KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two pedestrians suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash on Wednesday afternoon at a bus stop in Kansas City, Missouri, police said.

Sgt. Deb Randol said the man and woman were sitting at a bus stop around 2:45 p.m. near East 107th Street and Blue Ridge Boulevard when a Dodge Charger on Blue Ridge Boulevard struck a Ford Edge SUV from behind.

Both vehicles spun out of control and struck the two people at the bus stop.

They were transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to Randol.

The driver of the Charger was arrested at the scene. The driver of the SUV was not injured.

Two passengers in the SUV, a 16-year-old and a 3-year-old, also had minor injuries and were taken to a hospital for evaluation.
